Dorothy Vera Burger was born August 12, 1925 in Clay Center, Kansas. She attended schools south of Clay Center at Four Mile School. She eventually followed 2 of her siblings to the Clare/Fort Dodge area, working for her Uncle Art Jacobs. She met her husband Roger Harris and the two were united in marriage on March 19, 1948. They established their home in Fort Dodge. Dorothy worked as a CNA at Lutheran Hospital and then became a homemaker while raising her children. She loved to paint, read, and do crossword puzzles, especially the Sunday ones. She volunteered countless hours at St. Paul Lutheran Church and Camp Okoboji where she would spend her summers with family. She looked forward to the Burger family reunions. Every day she had a glass of Chardonnay at 4:00 "because it's 5 o'clock somewhere!"
Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Memorials may be left to S.O.S., St. Paul Lutheran Church, or Camp Okoboji.
