Dale T. Stucky 68, died Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Private family mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Church. Public visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Social distancing and wearing of masks are encouraged. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Dale is survived by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Karen, loving children, Samantha (Lance) Lennon, Lindsay (Rob) Ehn, Denny (Emily) Stucky, Mackenzie (Aaron) Ramthun, and Leo (Kate) Stucky. Also survived by his sixteen amazing grandchildren, brothers, Dave (Cindy) Stucky of Mason City, Dean (Denise) Stucky of Marshalltown, sisters, Sue Sherman of Warrensburg, MO, and Shirley (Bruce) Thompson of Lanesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Doris (Butler) Stucky.
Dale T. Stucky was born August 1, 1952 in Fort Dodge. As a young boy he and his family moved to Laurens and he graduated from Laurens High School. He then attended Iowa Central Community College. On June 14, 1975, Dale married Karen Crimmins. They made their home, Fort Dodge. For over 40 years Dale owned and operated Dale's Petroleum. Dale could and would talk to anyone. He had words of encouragement even for strangers. If you were not infected by his smile a quick joke would get a smirk across your face. The phrase "family man" was Dale's best description. He was the proudest father and grandfather anyone could find. Work or play Dale was there, supporting his family and loving every minute of it. He will be tremendously missed by his church, community, friends, and especially his family.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Stucky family at this sad time. Although I don’t know this young man who was taken from his loving family way to young, my heart goes out to all of you. I graduated Laurens in 1954 so don’t remember the Stucky family but recognized the name as I have heard some of my family (the Leo and Edna Hanish’s) visit about Stuckys. Tonight we were with Humboldt friends. They talked about Sam Stucky (favorably) being a friend of their relatives, Paul & Joann Ankiker who had a grocery story in West Bend. Love the connections made through internet.
May your loved on R.I.P.

I had Dale in my
English class at Laurens. He was fun, sweet and kind. I hate to hear of his death and wish health for his family.

Maureen Hobart on Sep 12, 2020

I was sorry to read of the death of Dale. You may not remember me, but am sure my husband's name Pat Hobart, will ring a bell . . I will always remember the Stucky family coming to church at St. Francis in Rockwell City and how proud I could observe Dale was of his family. I can just imagine his being just as proud of his grandchildren. His death at such a young age is hard to understand but with your good faith am sure you realize God has a special place in his eternal reward. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Maureen

I went to grade school with Dale for a few years when the family lived on Fort Dodge's "west side". He was always a nice guy to be around. They moved before we entered junior high and I has always wondered where they had moved to. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends in this time of sorrow.

Lynne Gonner on Sep 12, 2020

I witnessed the caring, generosity and compassion of Dale and the entire Stucky family during a challenging time in our lives. Those are moments one never forgets, though we don’t say it often enough. We are devastated over the loss of Dale and the hole left in the hearts of all who loved him. There are no words to adequately express that or to ease the pain. Sending love and prayers for healing to the entire Stucky family. His was a life well lived.

Allison Peterson on Sep 11, 2020

Words just fail me. I’ve known Dale for nearly 25 years, and to know him was to know all of you....his family. He was the proudest father and grandfather....nothing was more important to him than you. I enjoyed every single conversation I had with him. I will miss his sometimes weekly visits to our office! He was one of a kind and he made us all laugh! When he came in - everyone knew it - he just shared joy and made everyone’s day! My heart breaks - especially for your amazing family. I will keep you all close in my heart as you move through this very hard time. Sending love and wishing you strength. You are a very strong family...lean on that. He will never be forgotten and lives on in all of you! Allison Peterson
