Karen L. Hansen was born on June 13, 1941 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School and later LaJames College of Hairstyling and was an instructor there for many years. For several years Karen worked at Heartland Communications and enjoyed the friendships and the traveling she did for trade shows. On March 13, 1998 she was united in marriage to Michael Faye and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Karen retired at the age of 72 and loved her retirement with her husband Mickey and her family. She had many lifelong friends and always saw the good in everyone, never judgmental and always a good listener. Karen loved her animals and had many pets throughout her life. She loved living with her family and enjoyed nature, gardening, and special walks along Lizard Creek. Karen is going to be missed, especially her conversations that would make a cloudy seem sunny. Her outlook on life was to see the good in everything. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
