William D. Woehl, "Hawkeye Bill", 82,of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be 1:30 PM until the start of the service at the funeral home. Bill is survived by his wife Mary Woehl of Fort Dodge, son Justin (Tami) Woehl of Grimes and grandchildren Curtis Woehl and Charlie Woehl, many other family and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Elma (Merten) Woehl, granddaughter Abby Woehl, and brothers-in-law David and Tim O'Leary. William Dean Woehl was born July 27, 1940 in Lytton, Iowa. After graduation, he moved to Fort Dodge and worked for several contractors for 30 years. In 1990, he started Bill Woehl Construction. Bill was a master craftsman and perfectionist. He took pride in his home, his family and everything else that he did. He could always be found watching an Iowa Hawkeyes game especially Hawkeye football. Bill was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by all who know and loved him and remember "don't take any wooden nickels!" Memorials may be left to family discretion.
