Walter Farrand

Walter Harold Farrand, 82 years of age, passed away in Tucson Arizona on February 1, 2026.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 till 1:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Walt is survived by his children Bob (Heidi) Farrand of Conway, SC; Kathi (Joe) Anderson of Richmond, VA; Bill (Tracy) Farrand of Fort Dodge, IA; Brant (Tina) Farrand of Otho, IA; Nicole (Joe) Farrand of Tucson AZ; grandson, Calin Farrand of Tucson, AZ who resided with Walt; and his step children, Cindy Swanson of Tucson, AZ; Bud (Deb) Swanson of Vincent, IA; Tim Swanson of Fort Dodge, IA, KC of Mooreland, IA; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elsie (Askleaf) Farrand; sister, Marjorie (Farrand) Friederichs; wife, Donna (Farmer) Farrand; first wife, Karen (Chantland) Farrand.

Walt Farrand was born on August 30, 1943, in Davenport, IA and grew up in Fort Dodge, IA. He worked at various jobs during his life, including being a truck driver, working at Iowa Beef and owning an upholstery business. Walt was a kind man, full of stories and had an infectious laugh. He had a passion for Nascar, fishing and RVing.

Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Otho Community Center (220 Rake St. Otho, IA) immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
