Vicki Luverne Zunkel was born May 5, 1950 in Boone. She was raised and educated in Ogden; graduating from Ogden High School in 1968. On September 17, 1978 she was united in marriage to Steven Harper. The couple established their home in Boone. Vicki worked for Iowa State University, Trilite Window Company and retired in 2012 from CID in Fort Dodge. She then worked for South Central Calhoun School District until 2017. Over the years, she also did bookkeeping for their family business. Vicki and Steven enjoyed spending time at Twin Lakes and it led them to buy a cabin there in 1989 and then they built a duplex in 2001. In 2010, they moved to their current home on the lake and renovated it to enjoy with their family. Vicki was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing, playing Bridge, crafting, sewing, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She was always the first one in the stands and cheered louder than everyone else at their activities. Vicki spearheaded the Twin Lakes "Welcome Wagon". If you moved to the lake there was sure to be a plate of goodies and an introduction soon after. She also was an avid landscape enthusiast. The landscape at the golf course never had a weed if Vicki was around and was always left in pristine condition.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
