Verda Crimmins, 93, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, September 29, 2025 at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Fort Dodge with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m.
Verda is survived by her children Candace (Mike) Pavik, Chuck (Vickie) Crimmins, Cindy Crimmins, Corey (Michelle) Crimmins, Clayton Crimmins, Carmen Crimmins (Chris Calvert) all of Fort Dodge, 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, siblings William Bowman, Roger Johnson, Barbara Miller all of Fort Dodge, and Jerry Bowman of Riverside, CA.
She was preceded in death by her father William W. Bowman, mother Mable I. (Gerjets) Johnson, step-father Roy Johnson, husband Charles R. Crimmins Sr. in 1997, daughters Cathy Crimmins, Crystal Leadley, sisters Verna Davidson, Karen Hill, Connie Miller, and brother Ernest Bowman.
Verda Rae Bowman was born January 24, 1932, in Kossuth County near Lu Verne on a farm. She attended country schools. On March 7, 1950, Verda was united in marriage to Charles R. Crimmins and the couple made Fort Dodge their home. Verda worked various jobs throughout her adult life. Notably, she enjoyed cooking at the Boys Ranch and baking for Casey's. In Charles and Verda's retirement they loved to travel, especially trips to California, Vegas, and to watch racing.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
