Thomas "Mike" McAnally, 77, of Fort Dodge passed away following a short illness on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Paula J, Baber Hospice Home. A Celebration of Mike's Life Monday, January 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Mike is survived by his wife Denise, daughters Sherry Schwent and husband Brian of the Quad Cities, Lynn Bellows and her husband Jon of Pocahontas, daughter-in-law Inhyun Hanrahan of Florida, ten grandchildren, and brother Bill McAnally and wife Donna of Fort Dodge, brother-in-law Jay (Tracy) Collins, sister-in-laws, Mary (Marlyn) Gardalen, Diane (Bill) Blomker, Kathy (Jim) Kesterson, Maureen (Denny) Crimmins, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Helferich, mom and dad Emily (Hansch) and Thomas McAnally, son Timothy Michael McAnally, and step-son Craig Hanrahan, mother and father-in-law Gloria and Richard Collins. Thomas Michael McAnally was born August 16, 1945 in Fort Dodge. He is a 1963 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High School. He first worked for IBP and then for Mid American Energy until his retirement in 2004. On September 11, 1987, Mike was united in marriage to Denise (Collins) Hanrahan. He loved his yearly trips to Mexico with his wife Denise, where he got to see and spend time with his beach bum friends. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Mike had fun in retirement, he enjoyed golfing with the Geezer guys at Willow Ridge Golf Course, and listening to his Blue's Collection. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
