Thomas R. Martin, 82, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday October 25, 2025, at Trinity Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 31st at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. There will be a visitation on Friday 1 hour prior the services at the funeral home.
Tom is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Michael (Shannon) Martin, Kelly (Theresa) Martin, Edward (Christa) Martin, Chad Ralston, Janna Allbee, Joe Ralston; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister, Patricia Dwight and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Marguerite (Deal) Martin.
Thomas Ray Martin was born on January 5, 1943, in Fort Dodge where he was raised and educated. Tom served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1965. He worked at Hormels for 9 years and 20 years for Celotex until retiring in 2002. He was active in Men's Slow Pitch and Men's Softball League for many years. Tom also served on the Credit Union Board for Celotex. On January 5, 1996, Tom was united in marriage to Connie (Dutcher) Ralston. For 8 years Tom proudly worked for the City of Fort Dodge and was a professional speed mower. He enjoyed stock car and dirt racing as well as camping and keeping up with all of the grandkid's activities. Tom was very proud of all his family and loved bragging about them. He loved socializing and making the rounds and checking on everyone.
