Steven Taylor

Steven E. Taylor, 73, of Duncombe passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at his home.
A time of visiting will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Military Rites will be presented at 3:00 pm. By the VFW Post 1856 and the U.S Marine Corps Honor Guard.
Steve is survived by his son Steve Taylor and his wife Nicole and their children Karsyn and Kaydence of Bondurant, his daughter Erin Hanus and her children Alyvia and Kamryn of Webster City, his son Ryan Taylor and his wife Tayla and their children Gage and Sammy of Tullahoma, TN. Steve is also survived by his sister Sheila (Tom) Jondle of Callender.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred "Ted" and Jane (Surber) Taylor and brother Ted Taylor. Steve Eugene Taylor was born October 6, 1952, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1970. After graduating, Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served actively as an MP (Military Police) from 1972 to 1975 before entering the Marine Reserves. During this time, he worked for Iowa Beef before reenlisting in the United States Army. He served in the Army until 1992. After his honorable discharge, Steve worked for Celotex until his retirement.
