Wayne Youngquist

Wayne Youngquist, 94, of Paton, passed away Saturday December 13, 2025, at Friendship Haven.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 27th at Celebration Center at Friendship Haven. Visitation will be on Saturday 1 hour prior to the funeral. Laufersweiler Palmer and Sons Funeral Gowrie is serving the family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Bertha; children, Marit Elbert of Humboldt, Stefanie (Trent) Faulkner of Brownsburg, IL, Micah (Jennifer) Youngquist of Johnston; grandchildren, Megan (Daniel) Stark, Clark Faulkner; great grandson Levi Stark, and sister, Shirley (Alan) Youngquist Wooters.

Wayne is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rachel, and parents, Henry and Mabel (Holden) Youngquist.

Sherman Wayne Youngquist was born on March 29, 1931, in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated near Lanyon, graduating from Lanyon High School. On November 24, 1962, he was united in marriage to Bertha Jean Olson. In 1965, the couple established their home near Paton. He owned and operated Youngquist Oil in Harcourt. In 2020, the couple moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Wayne is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Haven for their love and care of Wayne over the years.
