Sharon A. Nesler, 81, of Pomeroy passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Accura Healthcare of Pomeroy.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Laufersweiler's Palmer- Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Sharon is lovingly remembered by her daughter Angela (Brad) Menard of Siloam Springs, AR, son Jeff (Amber) Nesler of Ankeny, daughter-in-law Karen Nesler of Pulman, WA, 9 grandchildren, Chris (Nicole), Kyle (Bailey) , Justin (Gabby), and Jordan (Lauren), Shauni (Cameron), Shane, Reese (Payton), Will, Miles; 10 great-grandchildren, Brantley, Reece, Hudson, Vera, Evelynn, Everett, Harper, Jaxon, Lydia, and Easton; sister Glennis Smith; brother Gary (Linda) Hammen, sister-in-law, Lynn Nesler; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and her Accura Healthcare family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul; her parents, Dude and Doris Hammen; her son John Nesler; her father and mother-in-law, Reese and Elsie Nesler and brother-in-law Richard Nesler.
Sharon Ann Hammen was born April 7, 1945 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Rockwell City High School and attended college in Iowa. She started working at Look Magazine in Des Moines in 1966, where she met her first husband Ron Williams. They were married and Angela Kay was born to this union. They later divorced and she met Paul in 1973 while they were both working at the Jolley Elevator. Sharon and Paul were married November 1, 1975 in Rockwell City. They lived in several communities in Iowa to include Marble Rock, Scarville and Lake Mills where she held several bookkeeping positions in both the industrial and agricultural sectors. They moved back to Rockwell City upon Paul's retirement in 2006. As Paul's health declined, they relocated to Ankeny and Sergeant Bluff. Upon Paul's passing, Sharon moved back to Rockwell City and eventually made her home in Pomeroy. Together Paul and Sharon enjoyed golfing and fishing at their cabin in Minnesota. Sharon also enjoyed gardening and decorating her home in her spare time.
