Ruth Fridolfson

Ruth T. Fridolfson, 74, of Rockwell City passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Accura Healthcare of Lake City.

A visitation will begin at 12:30 PM Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Laufersweiler's Palmer -Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM with the burial following in Gowrie Township Cemetery.

Ruth is survived by her children, Jeff (Sheila) Creger of Clear Lake, Grant Creger (Kristine Williams) of Woodward, Matt (Mandy) Creger of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael Creger of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Aliyah Creger and Ty Walsh, Andrew Creger, Chloe and Caden Creger, and Katelyn and Kelsey Williams; siblings, Gene Asklof, Rita Oberg, and Linda Wolfe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Fridolfson ; son, Marc Creger and parents, Glen and LaDonna (Ruth) Asklof.

Ruth Teresa Asklof was born July 7, 1950 in Clarinda, Iowa. She grew up on a farm outside of Stanton and in 1965 moved with her family to Essex where she graduated high school in 1968. She then attended the University of Northern Iowa. In 1970, Ruth was united in marriage to Thomas Creger. The couple later divorced. In 1989, she was united in marriage to Lyle Fridolfson in Gowrie. The couple made their home in Gowrie. They later moved to Somers, before establishing their home in Rockwell City. Ruth loved being a farm wife but also enjoyed working as a CNA and an EMT as well as an activity director for nursing homes for over 30 years. Ruth was the ultimate caretaker. She loved her family and was always there for her boys when they needed her. She enjoyed singing and belonged to the Manson Meridians for 10 plus years. Reading was one of her favorite things to do; so much so that she became a published romance novelist with her book "Second Chance Romance". Ruth enjoyed animals, knitting, collecting lighthouses and teapots, and playing board games, but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
