Ronald Eckman

Ronald A. Eckman, 84, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, June 7th 2026 at his home.

Visitation will be on Wednesday (Please Note the Date) June 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The family request that you wear your favorite NASCAR, Chicago Bears or favorite Green colored shirt to the visitation and funeral.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years Lorraine, daughters Tina (Brant) Farrand of Otho, IA, Taunja (Scott) Erickson of Boone, IA, Angela Richardson of Barnum, IA, grandchildren Melissa (Jason) Jones, Eric (Ashley) Oberg, Maranda (Andy) Geerdes, Jamie (Jerid) Ratzke, Brittany (Andy) Swanson, Patrick (Dani) Oberg Jr., Kody (Maryssa) Hoskins, Maggie Richardson, Kacie Hoskins, and Colton (Belle) Florea, and 21 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eric and Myrtle (Johnson) Eckman, and his son Todd "Rez" Resseguie.

Ronald Arthur Eckman was born on January 29, 1942 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Gowrie, graduating from Gowrie High School in 1960. On August 17, 1986 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Clark and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. For over 20 years Ron worked as a diesel mechanic until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Prairie Lakes Church. Ron was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Bears fan. Ron stayed busy in retirement, including camp hosting, experiments with cooking and working out with his friends at Active Health. His favorite thing was spending time watching his grandkids and great grandkids in their sporting events.
