Ron Wallace

Ronald Wallace, 80, of Sherman Oaks, California passed away February 16, 2026.

A visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Laufersweiler's Palmer-Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City and burial will follow at noon at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City.

Ron is survived by his sister Jan Jones of Fort Dodge, sister-in-law Maggie Wallace of Simi Valley, CA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special California family the Cooks: Lucy, Kris, Kyle and Kassandra.

He was preceded in death by his life partner George Darby, father Lyle Wallace and mother Mary (Blair) Wallace-Scott, siblings Dale Wallace and Cliff Wallace.

Ronald was born in Springfield, Ohio and raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended schools in Fort Dodge but graduated from Grinnell High School, after the family moved. He attended college at Northwest Missouri State College, in Maryville. Ron then moved to New York City, New York and later Los Angeles, California. He enjoyed social events, the arts, and anything musical. Ron loved animals and had a passion for shelter dogs, often fostering and adopting dogs himself.
