Rita Jones

Rita Ann Jones, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Marian Home.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Rita is survived by her children, Michael (Tammy) Jones of North Liberty, Jeff (Betty) Jones of AZ, Debra (Terry) Kiliper of Fort Dodge, Patrick (Sue) Jones of Fl, Janet Stevens of Grimes, and Carol (Dan) Ferry of FL; 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren and seven siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Lillian (McClain) Westmoreland, ex-husband, James Lee Jones, and siblings, Donald, Dick, Gregg, Nadine and Mary Jo Westmoreland, Dorothy Smith, and Rose Speltz, nephew Mark and niece Denise.

Rita Ann Jones was born August 7, 1933 near Varina, Iowa. She attended Fort Dodge Schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She was united in marriage to James Lee Jones. Rita was a homemaker until 1963 when she became employed with Randalls. She was a bookkeeper for 36 years before retiring in 1999. After her retirement, she was involved in numerous volunteer activities throughout the community. She spent a great deal of her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
