Rita A. Doyle Ivory, 95, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A rosary will begin at 3:30 PM Tuesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The visitation will follow from 4:00 to 6:30 PM Tuesday with a Vigil beginning at 6:30 PM all at the funeral home.
Rita is survived by her children, Katherine (Darby) Gaster of Watertown, WI, Nancy (Dave) Weiss of Fort Dodge, Suzan (Denny) Runyan of Earlham, John (Martha) Doyle of West Des Moines, Mary (John) Ohrtman of Fort Dodge; stepchildren, Cynthia Fenner of North Liberty, IA, Robert Ivory of Fort Dodge, Timothy (Brenda) Ivory of Fort Dodge, Douglas (Linda) Ivory of Omaha, NE, Dennis Ivory of Fort Dodge; daughter-in-law, LouAnn Doyle of Huxley; 29 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and sister Rachel (Patrick) Carter of Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Doyle and Joseph Ivory; parents, Joseph and Rachel (McElroy) Drzycimski; children, Joseph Doyle and Ann Doyle Johnston; grandson, Sean Runyan; great-granddaughter Andrine Marburger; siblings, Miriam Williams, Mary Jean Buckley, Betsy O’Leary, Robert Drzycimski and George Drzycimski.
Rita Ann Drzycimski was born November 29, 1928 in Palmer, Iowa. As a child, she moved to Fort Dodge with her family and attended school. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School and then attended Fort Dodge Junior College. Rita was united in marriage to Lawrence Doyle on September 29, 1948 in Fort Dodge. He passed away April 5, 1965. Rita worked for Dr. Klepper as a dental assistant for 4 years. She founded the Humpty-Dumpty Preschool. She operated the preschool for 7 years and then transitioned it into the Webster County Daycare. She served as the director for 18 years and retired in 1989. On July 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to Joseph Ivory and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Rita was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.
