Richard Gaffney

Richard "Dick" Gaffney 71, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, passed

away Tuesday, September 16, 2024 at UPMC - Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh,

Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at

Laufersweiler's Palmer-Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with a Funeral

Service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Denise Berns officiating. A Private Family

Burial of casket will be at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City, with and Military

Graveside Rites by the Amvets Post #41.

Dick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Gaffney; sisters, Carol (Ric)

Jurgens, and Janet (Dan) McCarthy; brother Keith (Pam) Gaffney; his niece Katie

Leon; nephews, Michael Jurgens, Matt Gaffney, and Cole Gaffney; two great

nieces; eight great nephews; and stepchildren, Penny (Jeff) Cooper and Jeff

Arnold; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul

and Faye (Holler) Gaffney.

Richard Paul Gaffney was born July 21, 1953 at Lake City, Iowa. He graduated

from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1972. Dick served in the

United States Air Force for four years before returning to Iowa where he attended

the University of Northern Iowa and earned his BA in marketing. Dick enjoyed a

long and successful career as a Territory Sales Manager with Hormel Foods. He

resided in Pittsburgh with his wife Bonnie, until his death, however Dick's heart

was always close to home, he was making plans to move back to Iowa. We will

greatly miss Dick's mischievous smiles, his sense of humor, and his dedication to

our family.
