Randy Lee Hoffmeier

Randy L. Hoffmeier, 68, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, surrounded by his family following a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Survivors include his daughters Jennifer Hoffmeier of Decatur, AL, Nicole Hoffmeier of Fort Dodge, son Ricky (Josie Rivera) Hoffmeier of Dayton, grandchildren Madison, Merranda, Chevy, Javarion, Nakiyah, Javayah, Ryan and Robert, great grandchildren Kailys, Charlie, and Wesley, brother David Hoffmeier of Fort Dodge, sister Peggy Hoffmeier of Des Moines, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Gladys (Ladwig) Hoffmeier, brother Ricky Hoffmeier and his sister Virginia Hoffmeier.

Randy Lee Hoffmeier was born on November 8, 1957 in Denison, IA. He was raised and educated there. In June of 1983, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Widstrup and to this union there were 3 children, Jennifer, Nicole, and Ricky. The couple were later divorced. For a time, Randy worked at the Sara Lee Plant in Storm Lake. He then went to work at Nestle Purina for 9 years. Randy then went on to work at BHJ where he retired from in 2025. Family was the most important thing in Randy's life. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Randy enjoyed being outdoors whether it was mushroom hunting, fishing, or hunting. He also loved to listen to rock music as loud as possible whenever could.
