Onalee J. Walsh, 87, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Barnum, slipped away in her sleep on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Friendship Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 18th at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Barnum. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son Steve Walsh of Moorland, daughters Cindy (Steve Sangston) Walsh of Morton Grove, Joanne (Vijay) Malleta of Skokie, IL, grandchildren Nolan Malleta and Keaton Malleta, her beloved exchange students Katrin and Pernilla, sister-in-law Anita (Jerry) Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Walsh in 2004, parents Charles and Leona (Vinaas) Daniel, sister Charlene (Stan) Lee, brother Dwight (Marie) Daniel, an infant sister Charlotte Jean.
Onalee Juane Daniel was born July 3, 1938, to Charles and Leona Daniel in Bradgate, IA. She was raised and educated in Humboldt, graduating from Humboldt High School in 1956. On September 7, 1963 she was united in marriage to Ronald Walsh at St. Mary's Church in Humboldt and they established their home in Barnum, IA. They later moved to the Heritage farm near Barnum where they farmed for 40 plus years. Onalee worked for the NW Webster School in Barnum, known as Manson Northwest School, when she retired after more than 23 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Catholic Daughters of America and Iowa Retired School Personnel Association. Onalee enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona for 20 years. She has danced her way to heaven to be with her Ron.
Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer's Association or to No Kid Hungry.
