Burial will follow at Cedar Township Cemetery, outside of Rinard. A visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. TUESDAY at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Michael was born October 4, 1975 to John and Carole (Barnhoft) Erritt. He was raised in the Somers area graduating from Prairie Valley High School in 1994. He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College. In Las Vegas on August 14, 2001, Michael married Tara Blunk and the couple started their home on an acreage outside of Callender. He first worked for Smithway and Decker Truck Line and then began his ag business in custom application and trucking for his dad. Michael had a love for farming and was always there to help his father with the family operation. He raised goats, miniature cows, horses and was always proud of the new additions he brought home to the herd. Michael was the definition of a volunteer. He was a past Webster County Horse Project Leader, volunteer firefighter for Farnhamville, and especially loved being his daughter's basketball coach. Michael was an avid Iowa fan win or lose, as well as a die hard Cowboys fan. Michael was a friend to many and would take anyone under his wing. To Michael, nobody was ever considered a stranger, and above all Michael was a family man. His wife and his children were his entire world. He was the rodeo dad, the mechanic, the electrician, the shoulder to cry on, the planner, the biggest cheerleader, and would drop anything to protect and care for his family. He was a best friend and dad to many that he didn't have to be. Left with broken hearts are his wife Tara, children Alexa Anderson, Dylan Anderson both of Fort Dodge, Payton Erritt, Drake Michael Erritt, and Kyleigh Erritt of Callender, parents John and Carole of Somers, brother Monte and his wife Holly and their children Samuel John, Sara Beth, and Matthew Jack of Atlanta. Michael is also survived by his in-laws Glen and Marilyn Blunk, Chad Blunk and his wife Shelly and their children Hudson and Holden, as well as his Aunt Janet Bird of Somers. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to 2995 Carter Avenue Callender, IA 50523.
