Mary E. Rogers, 95, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Simpson Health Center Friendship Haven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery on the Lizard west of Clare. There will be a visitation on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Mary is survived by her children, Diane (Roy) Pierce of Fort Dodge, Rick (Sue) Rogers of Barnum, Becky (Randy) Vanderpool of Fort Dodge, Anne (Rob) Patterson, of Fort Dodge, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Don Hanson, parents, Richard and Mahala (Fox) Heun, sister, Delores "Dee" Black, brothers, Robert, John, Harold and Tommy Heun.
Mary Elizabeth Heun was born on September 3, 1930 to Richard and Mahala Heun on their family farm near Gilmore City. The family moved to a farm near Fort Dodge in 1939 and later moved to Duncombe. Mary graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1948. On November 9, 1948 she was united in marriage to Leonard Rogers at the St. Joseph's Church in Duncombe and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Mary worked various jobs including, the Boston Store, Bootery, Lloyds Laundry, and Quality Plus. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
