Mary Lou Fibiker, 94, of Callender passed away September 3, 2025 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Longterm Care. Private graveside services were held at Fulton Township Cemetery, Moorland, Iowa. Laufersweiler Funeral Home served the family.
Mary Lou Hood was born June 11, 1931, on a farm near Creston, IA to Frank and Margradell Hood. She grew up in southern Iowa, until moving to the Badger/Fort Dodge area. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Donald Fibiker on February 8, 1953, and the couple lived on the family farm near Callender. The farm was awarded "The Century Farm" award in 1997. Over the years Mary Lou was a homemaker, worked at JC Penney, Somers Savings Bank, and Friendship Haven. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a long-time member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary Lou is survived by her children Donna (Ralph) Bryan of Badger, IA, Linda (John) Redden of Lakewood, CO, Kevin Fibiker of Moorland, IA, Kimberly (Dennis) Holtz of St. Augustine, FL, grandchildren Drs. Angela (Kayode) Garraway of Snohomish, WA, Brittanie (John) Patrylo of Atlantic Beach, FL, Nicholas Holtz of St. Augustine, FL, Alexandria Holtz, of Atlantic Beach, FL, twin sisters Karen Gonseth and Sharon (Bill) Sheesley, brother Bill (Diane) Hood, nieces Shelly Sheesley Dietz, Jill Sheesley Curnes, Patricia Gonseth Tyer, Billie Jo Hood-Greenwalt, Diane Fibiker McCalmont, nephews Gail Hood, David Sheesley, Chad Hood, David Fibiker, and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Fibiker, parents Frank and Margradell (Baker) Hood, brother and sister-in-law Keith and Doris Hood, brother-in-law Larry Gonseth, father and mother-in-law James and Sylivia Fibiker, brother-in-law LaVerne Fibiker, and nephew Chris Gonseth.
