Mary Ann Winninger, 69, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, January 30th at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Barnum. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Laufersweiler Funeral Home.
Mary Ann Winninger was the fourth of eight children born to Joe and Katherine (Meyer) Winninger on May 7, 1954, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm by Barnum with her seven siblings. She attended Fort Dodge Schools and went on to Iowa Central Rehabilitation Industries.
In February of 1985, Mary Ann moved to New Hope Village in Carroll where she lived for 35 years. Mary Ann was involved In many activities, such as the Special Olympics Bowling, garden club, choir, and campus parties. With Special Journey’s, she vacationed in Dollywood, Branson, Niagara Falls, Mt Rushmore, and various other Caribbean Cruises.
In September of 2020, she became a resident of Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Katherine, sister Kathy, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her siblings Robert (Patty) Winninger, Susie Newsum, Gary (Jolene) Winninger, Mark Winninger all of Fort Dodge, Maureen Winninger Birkey of Clare and John (Darlene) Winninger of Duncombe, and she was a loving aunt to 14 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City, New Hope Village in Carroll, and Unity Point Hospice of Fort Dodge for the excellent care she received.
Memorials may be left to New Hope Village in Carroll or to Unity Point Hospice of Fort Dodge.
