Mabel H. Clay, 100, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation.
Entombment will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, North Lawn Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Mabel is survived by her son, Price (Vicki) Clay Jr. of Fort Dodge; daughter, Margaret Reed of Minneapolis; step-grandson, John Cole of Wisconsin, and sister, Gerada Robinson of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Price Clay, Sr; parents, Claude and Addie (Webster) Buckner; son, Larry Burrell; infant sisters, Ruth and Edith Buckner; brothers, Clifton, Nathaniel, Claude, Jr, Gerald, Floyd, George, and Milton Buckner.
Mabel was born May 2, 1924 in Keokuk. She was raised and attended school there until moving with her family to Fort Dodge in 1948. In 1953, Mabel was united in marriage to Price Clay in Omaha, NE. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Mabel was employed with Tobins for 32 and a half years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
