Louise J. Shackleton, 73, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023 with Rev. Ross Caniglia. Burial will be at a later date at Payne Cemetery at Lone Rock Church, Conception Junction, Missouri. A visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Lou is survived by her husband Stephen Shackleton of Fort Dodge, brother James (JoAnne) Andresen of Omaha, NE, sister-in-law Shelia (Randy) Balm of Fort Dodge, several nieces, nephews, and beloved dogs, Tippy and Bunny. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Edwina (Gidley) Boosinger and in-laws Donald and Kathryn Shackleton. Louise Josephine Boosinger was born August 28, 1949 in Omaha, NE. She was raised in Omaha and moved to Fort Dodge in 1968. In 1969 she was united in marriage to Herman Pirie and the couple later divorced. Most of her adult life she spent in Fort Dodge except when she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Convent in St. Louis, MO. Louise returned to Fort Dodge and attended Iowa Central Community College where she received her LPN degree. On June 22, 1996 she was united in marriage to Stephen Shackleton at Corpus Christi Church and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Lou retired from the Norma Schmoker Woman's Center in 2017. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
