Loretta Wolf

Loretta C. Wolf, 87, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 am at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 am Monday, April 1, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 5:00 pm and a Vigil starting at 7:00 pm. Loretta is survived by her children, Robert (Jo Rae)Wolf of Fort Dodge, Sawyer Wolf of Ames, and Joseph Wolf of Cedar Rapids; brother, Henry Mackey of Laurens; many nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Loretta (O'Brien) Mackey; husband, Dennis Wolf in 1989; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Loretta Carmel Mackey was born September 17, 1931 in Fonda, Iowa. She was raised on a farm near Varina, Iowa and graduated from St. Columkille High School in Varina in 1950. She worked as a nurse aide at Mercy Hospital. On June 1, 1954 she was united in marriage to Dennis Wolf and they established their home on a farm near Pocahontas. They later moved to Ames and in 1964, moved to Fort Dodge. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Legion of Mary, Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Cooper Ladies. Loretta hosted a Tuesday night prayer group, The Cenacle of the Marian Movement of Priests for over 30 years. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
