Lois Byrne

Lois Ann Byrne, 84, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Bickford Cottages.

A visiting time for family and friends will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Lois is survived by her sons Matt (Dawn) Byrne of Manson, Dan (Meg) Byrne of Bettendorf, grandchildren Melissa Byrne of Ankeny, Adam (Lexie) Byrne of Bondurant, Cate Byrne of Austin, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Hagenson, parents Herman and Mary Jane (Jeffers) Pitts, husband Leo in 2023, and sister Donna Smith.

Lois was born October 21, 1940, in Clinton. She was raised and educated in Clinton. Lois then completed her nurses training in Fort Dodge. She was united in marriage to Leo Byrne and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Lois was a nurse for Trinity Regional Hospital for 22 years.

Lois and Leo loved to travel and often wintered in Texas during their retirement. Lois was an excellent baker, often sharing her pies and cookies with her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting and has left many pieces to share with her beloved children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
