Kathryn J. (Lundell) Stanberg, 68, of Fort Dodge entered into eternal peace on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A private memorial for the immediate family will take place in May. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Kathryn is survived by her mother Jean Lundell of Fort Dodge Marian Village; brother Steve (Linda) Lundell of Beavercreek OH; sisters, Terri (Jeff) Martin of Des Moines IA, Laura Howell of Omaha NE, and Linda (Rich) Korona of Peoria AZ; 1 niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Art Lundell, Jr., and her brother David Lundell. Kathy was born on Sept 7, 1954, in Webster City, IA. She moved to Fort Dodge at a young age and attended Catholic schools, graduating from St. Edmond High School in 1972. Soon after, she began a decades-long career with the Fort Dodge Public School System. For over 40 years, she worked at Highland Park, Fort Dodge Senior High, and Butler Elementary before retiring in 2015. Kathy enjoyed playing guitar, listening to James Taylor music, long walks in Oleson Park, Halloween, and all things spooky. Anyone who knew Kathy would tell you the greatest love(s) of her life were her dogs. Andy, Candi, TJ, Frankie, Kirby, Karson, and Jamie were all blessed to call her "Mama." We know the ones who preceded her will be anxiously awaiting her arrival over the Rainbow Bridge. In lieu of flowers, please take a walk through the park, listen to some JT, and/or make a donation to a dog-friendly charity of your choice in her memory. It would make Kathy smile.
