Kalcie J. Kopp, 75, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A graveside service will follow at North Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be Tuesday at 9:00 AM until the start of the service at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Kalcie is survived by his wife Connie Kopp of Fort Dodge; children Dawn Erickson of Fort Dodge, James "Jim" Kopp of Fort Dodge, and Hope (Jason) Huff of Elk Run Heights; grandchildren Christopher (Alissa) Erickson of Des Moines and Miranda Erickson of Fort Dodge, Madilynn Huff, Zachary Huff, and Ciara Huff all of Elk Run Heights; great-grandchildren Brayden and Liberty Erickson; siblings Mayre Menard of Lincoln, NE, Larry (Marsha) Kopp of Lakeville, MN, Patty (Don) Koch of Deforest, WI and Teresa Wolfe (Gary) of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents Kalcie and Margaret (Crowley) Kopp and siblings Carol Lack, Norma Robbins, Richard Kopp, and Lorraine Peterson. Kalcie James Kopp was born June 12, 1946 in Fort Dodge. He attended area schools and Fort Dodge Senior High prior to being drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge in 1967, he was united in marriage to Connie Hickey in Blue Earth, MN. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Kalcie worked at Henry's before moving with his family to Missouri into a management position with Henry's. The family eventually returned to Fort Dodge. He also worked for IBP, Van Diest, and most recently at USG until his retirement in 2000. Kalcie was an avid fisherman. He loved to hunt and make "projects" with his grandchildren. He especially loved the outdoors and socializing with family and friends. He was honored to attend the Honor Flight in 2017. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
