Julie Packard-Knutson

Julie Packard-Knutson, 71, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 to 6:00 pm with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2026 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Julie is survived by her sons, Packard Knutson of Ankeny and James Knutson of Fort Dodge and his son Greysen, sister Barb Johnson and her children Ned and Erin Johnson, cats Oreo and Gigi and many loving cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bud and Marie Packard and an infant brother.

Julie Packard was born December 30, 1954 in Belmond. She attended area schools and graduated from Wartburg College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. She spent two years teaching in the Lake Mills School District while raising her family in Belmond. Julie also worked as an insurance salesperson, a mortgage lender and a stock broker.

Memorials may be left to Almost Home Animal Shelter and the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
