Johnnie B. Naylor, 80, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2024 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his children, Ramonia Naylor of MN, Marlo (Wilburt) McAdams of MI, Andrea Outlaw of Fort Dodge, Issac Newsome (Telanda) of Des Moines, Juan Naylor of Fort Dodge, and David Terrell of OH; grandchildren, Rainia Tucker, Kashka Johnson, Brady McAdams, Kyle McAdams, Jerrale Williams, Courtney Williams, Calvina Naylor, Makla Naylor, Akasha Lambert, Isaac Newsome, Itasha Newsome, Isiaha Newsome, and Jaichelle Naylor; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jerry Altman, Vera Altman, Dessie Amerison, Sharon Altman, Terry Altman, Richard Altman, Gregory Naylor, Flora Bouchee, Bradley Bouchee, Johnnie Bouchee Jr., Larue Bouchee, and Gerome Bouchee all of Fort Dodge and Annie Bradley of MS; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Bouchee and Mary Naylor; children, Shamar Johnson, Michele Williams, and Precious Burlson; siblings, Maggie Bouchee, Marjorie Joseph, Jules Bouchee and his forever friend, Lillian Wheat.
Johnnie B. Naylor was born December 10, 1943 in Alabama. As a young child he moved to Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He started his working life at 14 as a bus boy at the Eiler’s Hotel. When he graduated high school he began working at USG and worked there for over 41 and a half years before his retirement. He also worked for Fort Dodge Distributing delivering Pabst Blue Ribbon. Johnnie, better known as the “Juice Man”, was a laid back and gentle soul. He was everyone’s grandpa. He enjoyed watching Westerns and Walker Texas Ranger. He made a man cave where he sat and listened to the Blues. He spent a great deal of time with his family and enjoyed going to church at Second Baptist where he was a Deacon.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
