John W. Bruner started his journey to heaven on July 15, 2022. He wanted to stay longer because he had such a great love and so much joy with his wonderful wife Connie, their special loving daughters, Chrissy and Jenny, their terrific husbands, Joel Magruder and Dan Nielsen and his super grandkids Joel II, Addie, Mason, Gabbi, Sophie, Johnny, and Danny. He also leaves behind his funny and fun-loving siblings, Snap "Brian" (Cheryl), Barry (Mary), Dave (Natalie), Judy, and Mary Fran. He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Bob and Lovey Bruner. In John's life there was never a dull moment. He loved to gather at the lake with family and friends, read a good book, snuggle in when it was cold and snowy, have fun on the farm, hunt, and golf. He loved a good joke and saw the world, making lots of friends in the world of community service. John always said "If you really, really, really love someone, if you really, really, love something, you'll give the best that is in you for them". He really, really loved his Connie, his family, and his friends. He really, really loved Fort Dodge, Holy Trinity Parish, Saint Edmond, his students, clients, and all those he worked with throughout the years. Because of his great love for all of these, he joyfully gave the best that was in him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church.
