Joe M. McCarville, 61, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, December 4th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 12th at 2:30 PM at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 the U.S Navy Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at the church.
Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.
Survivors include his wife Cris of Fort Dodge, daughter Tina McCarville of Virginia Beach, VA, sons Josh McCarville of Manson, and Joey McCarville of Des Moines, brother Christopher (Melissa) McCarville of Springdale, AR, and sister Molly (Ryan) Rikkels of Cedar Falls.
He was preceded by his parents Michael and Judy (McDonald) McCarville, and his brother Dan McCarville.
Joseph Michael McCarville was born on June 1, 1962, in Cedar Rapids. He was raised and educated in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo Columbus High School in 1981. On December 26, 1984, he was united in marriage to Crisanta Portacia in Norfolk, VA. From April of 1985 until October 1998, Joe served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge the family moved to Fort Dodge. Joe was employed from 1999 to 2019 at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility in food service. He enjoyed watching reruns especially the Andy Griffith Show and M.A.S.H. Joe would also come along with Cris while she learned line dancing. Whenever he said "lets go for a ride" Cris knew they were going to the casino for a little fun.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
