Joanna Kay Altman

Joanna Potter, 60, passed away March 16, 2026, at her home. Joanna was born January 5, 1966, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Clarice Altman and Johnny Duncan. She attended schools in the Fort Dodge School System and worked various jobs. In 1989 she married the love of her life Randall Potter, and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge.

Joanna was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain. She loved music (especially Keith Sweat), she loved long car rides with her husband Randy, and she loved her T.V. shows; Walker Texas Ranger, Little House on the Prairie, and In the Heat of the Night were her most favorite, but most of all she loved her family.

Joanna is survived by her children, Shafferra (Leopoldo) and Matthew (Tymathie), grandchildren, Ava, Emma, and Malaysiah, brothers, Danny, James, and Michael, sister, DeLois, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Diane and Angela, and brother Larry.

Joanna lived life her way and will forever be remembered as a person who loved, loved to laugh, and loved life. A celebration of life is planned for 6/13/26.
