Jerry K. Linder, 86, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday January 16, 2026, at Friendship Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 24, 2026, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 at the funeral home.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda, children, Mindi (Greg) Wolfe of Houston, TX, Rebecca (Jay) Kaduce of Des Moines, Kent Beane of Des Moines, Mark (Ann Marie) Beane of Fort Dodge, Joshua Wilson of Fort Dodge, Jeanna Brown of Dubuque, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Lou, and parents, Clarence and Roberta (Lowrey) Linder, and his sister Suzanne Linder.
Jerry Kenneth Linder was born on April 13, 1939, to Clarence and Roberta Linder in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1957. For 8 years Jerry served in the National Guard. In 1959, Nikita Krushchev (Prime Minister of the Soviet Union) came to Iowa and the National Guard was involved. Jerry was tasked as his driver taking him around to farms all over the state of Iowa. In 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Lou Beane and the couple lived in Fort Dodge. Linda Lou passed away in 1992. For 50 years, Jerry owned and operated Whelchel Linder Body Shop, he retired in 2002. On November 29, 2002, he was united in marriage to Linda Wilson. Jerry has been a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
