Jerry Garretson

Jerry A. Garretson, 76, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024.

A private family visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 in Columbus, NE.

Jerry is survived by his children, Larry Garretson of Fort Dodge, John (Melissa Joyce) Garretson of Gowrie, and Amy (John) Moleseed of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, John Garretson, Jr., Kirstyn Garretson, Justyn Morgan, Aylexis Morgan, and Makayla Busma; and great-granddaughter, Kinsley Eve.

Jerry Allen Garretson was born January 4, 1948 in Columbus, NE. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1967. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1972. Soon after, Jerry met the love of his life Anna Heise at a bowling alley while out with friends. On July 7, 1977 they were married and made their home in Fort Dodge where Anna taught at the high school. Jerry was a truck driver for PIC for over 20 years. He enjoyed his Nebraska Cornhuskers and was an avid car guy.
