Jeanine Nellis

Jeanine Nellis, 93, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday January 9, 2026, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 17, 2026, at the Friendship Haven Celebration Center. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the Friendship Haven. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Jeanine is survived by her children, Lynn (Randall) Strauss of Omaha, Jeff (Ruth) Nellis of Fort Dodge, Rick Nellis of Fort Dodge, grandchildren, Ian (Kumiko), Tiffany, Brian, Lindsey (Bill), Matt, Rebecca (Marc), 4 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Eddie Nellis, Diane Heaton, Marlene Schurr.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her husband, L. Glenn, parents, Edward and Hazel (Johnston) White, and siblings, Irene Shipman, and Ted White.

Jeanine Marie White was born on November 5, 1932, in Fort Dodge, IA. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High. On May 6, 1951, she married Glenn Nellis, and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Jeanine was a dedicated homemaker while Glenn served in the military and while he owned and operated his own construction company. She was the bookkeeper for Nellis Construction Company for decades. Jeanine was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, an active volunteer, serving on many committees and councils. She also enjoyed her many years volunteering at Friendship Haven.
