Jeanne Bird

Jeanne Ellen Bird, 75, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at her home.

A Celebration of Life and graveside service will be held at a later date. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Survivors include her sisters Kristine (Mike) Nottger of Fort Dodge, Shelley (Steve) Barrett of Moorland, brother Robert Espeland of Fort Dodge, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded by her parents Morris and Mary (Dimler) Espeland, and her husband Michael Ulicki.

Jeanne Ellen Espeland was born on March 27, 1951 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1969. On May 5, 1973 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Michael Ulicki. Michael passed away in a traffic accident in 1978. Jeanne then attended and graduated from Iowa Central Community College with a Associates of Arts Degree. She then went to Ohio and graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Her accounting career took her all over the Midwest and when she retired she made her home in Fort Dodge. Jeanne enjoyed reading and working in her garden.
