Jacqueline “Jackie” Jo Kehm, 69, of West Des Moines and formerly of Fort Dodge, went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 9, 2024, at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. A private family burial will be held in Fort Dodge at a later date. Laufersweiler Funeral Home of Fort Dodge is serving the family.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Allen; daughter, Sarah Kehm of West Des Moines; son, Ryan (Mandy) Kehm of Fort Dodge; and grandchildren Evey, Ozzie, Jay and a 4th grandchild due in April; brother-in-law: David Kehm (Diane); sisters-in-law: Carla Vinsand (Jim), Sheila Stuhr (Mark); many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear close friends, and her dog - Riley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian “Pete” and Gladys Peterson.
Jacqueline Jo Peterson was born on March 2, 1954, in Buffalo Center, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Buffalo Center, graduating from Buffalo Center High School. After graduation she attended and graduated from Drake University in 1977 with a degree in Pharmacy. On November 14, 1981, she was united in marriage to Allen Kehm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge and owned and operated Professional Pharmacy for a number of years. The couple moved to Des Moines in 2008. Jackie worked as a pharmacist for various pharmacies in Fort Dodge and Des Moines until retiring due to ill health in 2014. She was always an active member of the church, involved in a number of different groups and ministries, including most recently at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. She especially enjoyed Children’s Ministries, which she taught for many years. She was a passionate speaker for different women’s organizations sharing her faith about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After Jackie retired, she also wrote a book.
The Family would like to thank the physicians and medical staff at Mercy Hospital, the caring staff at Harmony West Des Moines and St. Croix Hospice.
Memorials may be left to Hope Ministries of Des Moines in memory of Jackie.
