Gregory Kruthoff

Jan 23, 1952 — Aug 8, 2026

Gregory Alan Kruthoff, 74, of Badger, Iowa, passed away August 9, 2026, at the Southfield Wellness Center in Webster City.

Following high school Greg served the US Army in the Vietnam War. Though a lifelong learner and jack of all trades, he is best known for his career as a sheet metal specialist. He worked in California and Nevada before joining his brother Robert at Advanced Heating and Cooling in Fort Dodge. He married Barb Runyan on June 12, 1997, and retired in 2005.

Greg will be remembered for his love of outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and target practice. He took pride in sharing his expertise in drafting blueprints as a mentor to apprentices, and enjoyed home fix-it projects and reading Western novels. He never met a stranger, only a potential friend.

Greg was born January 23, 1952, in Winfield, South Dakota to Leo and Bertha Lee Kruthoff, now deceased. He is survived by his wife Barb of 29 years, his children Tonya (Dan) McPherson, Nick (Katarzyna) Kruthoff, Erin Runyan (Taylor Monson), and Lacy (Clint) Harms. His legacy continues with his grandchildren Madeline McPherson, Autumn Peterson, Abi Peterson, Jack McPherson, Tucker Harms, Paul Kruthoff, Emma Kruthoff, Tatum Harms, Tieryn Harms, Owen Kruthoff, Ella Kruthoff, and great granddaughter Presley Marie Sullivan.

Additional survivors are his sister Jean Tesler, brothers Randy, Mike, and Robert Kruthoff, plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Greg was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl, and sons Paul Kruthoff and Andy Runyan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
