Gonzalo Urbina-Ramirez, 64, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday July 27, 2026, at Holy Trinity Church. There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday July 25, 2026, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Gonzalo's wishes were to be buried in Mexico with the rest of his family.

Gonzalo is survived by his wife, Yduvina Galvan de Urbina, children, Fernando, Abram, Sandra, and Alejandra Urbina Galvan, grandchildren, Natalie Zaragoza, Daniella Andrade, Andrea Martinez, Jocelyn Tolentino, Melanie Tolentino, Dylan Urbina, Genesis Urbina, Giulianna Urbina, and Dahliana Urbina. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Aleah Urbina-Galvan.

Gonzalo was born on February 13, 1962, in Guanajuato, Mexico. On July 11, 1983, he married the love of his life, Yduvina Galvan, in Mexico. Together, they began building a life before moving to Ivanhoe, California, where they raised their family for 13 years. In the early 2000s, they made Fort Dodge their home. A hardworking and devoted family man, Gonzalo was deeply proud of his Mexican heritage. For 18 years, he owned and operated La Loma alongside Yduvina, taking great pride in serving the community and enjoying the opportunity to work together each day. In his free time, Gonzalo loved watching fútbol, listening to music, and joking around with Yduvina. He also enjoyed cooking and was especially known for making an unforgettable flan custard that family and friends loved.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Se celebrará una Misa de Funeral Cristiana a la 1:00 p. m. del lunes 27 de julio de 2026 en la Iglesia Holy Trinity. Habrá un velorio de 2:00 a 5:00 p. m. el sábado 25 de julio de 2026 en Laufersweiler Funeral Home. El deseo de Gonzalo era ser sepultado en México junto al resto de su familia.

A Gonzalo le sobreviven su esposa, Yduvina Galván de Urbina; sus hijos, Fernando, Abram, Sandra y Alejandra Urbina Galván; y sus nietos, Natalie Zaragoza, Daniella Andrade, Andrea Martínez, Jocelyn Tolentino, Melanie Tolentino, Dylan Urbina, Genesis Urbina, Giulianna Urbina y Dahliana Urbina. Le precedió en la muerte su hija, Aleah Urbina-Galván.

Gonzalo nació el 13 de febrero de 1962 en Guanajuato, México. El 11 de julio de 1983 contrajo matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Yduvina Galván, en México. Juntos comenzaron a construir su vida antes de mudarse a Ivanhoe, California, donde criaron a su familia durante 13 años. A principios de la década del 2000, establecieron su hogar en Fort Dodge.

Gonzalo fue un hombre trabajador, dedicado por completo a su familia y profundamente orgulloso de sus raíces mexicanas. Durante 18 años fue propietario y operador de La Loma junto a Yduvina, sintiéndose muy orgulloso de servir a la comunidad y de poder trabajar todos los días al lado de su esposa.

En su tiempo libre, a Gonzalo le encantaba ver fútbol, escuchar música y bromear con Yduvina. También disfrutaba cocinar y era especialmente conocido por preparar un delicioso flan, un postre inolvidable que tanto su familia como sus amigos disfrutaban.
