Gerolyn Annell Banks, 87, formerly of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Odeboldt Specialty Care.
Her wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time. She will be laid to rest with her parents at North Lawn Cemetery.
Gerolyn Annell Banks was born to Charles and Annell (Bankston) Banks on September 16, 1937, in Fort Dodge. She attended Carpenter Elementary School, then South Junior High, and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. After high school, Gerolyn complete Nurses Aider training and worked for the Lutheran Hospital. She also waitressed at Woolworths in the Crossroads Mall. In 1978, she began working as the Fort Dodge meter maid until her retirement. Gerolyn was a beloved member of Second Baptist Church. Within the church she served on the Usher Board, Red Circle Girls, chairman of the Mother's Board, and Vice Chairman of the Mission Board. She was proud to be a Fort Dodger and was proud to serve the community.
Gerolyn is survived by her nieces and nephews Veronique Banks, Clarinda Addison, Charles Banks, Michael Banks, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles Banks.
