George Grady

George Grady, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

George is survived by his significant other for the last 42 years Vickey Preston of Fort Dodge, children Major Mosley of Houston, TX, Na'tesa (Pete) Cordero of Houston, TX, James (Catherine) Mosley of Fort Dodge, Covey Grady of Fort Dodge, Latasha Preston of Fort Dodge, Jeremiah Preston of Fort Dodge, Keyonna Preston of Fort Dodge, Akaisha (Jordan) Ayala of Fort Dodge, Taniya Preston of Fort Dodge, Tre Preston of Fort Dodge, and Tayzon Preston of Fort Dodge, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, God son Colby Roest of Duncombe, and his sister Martha Davis of Fort Dodge.

Preceded in death by his parents Matthew and Alberta "Gracie" Kolberg (Durr) Grady, daughter Audrey Mosley, son Ricky Grady, sisters Alberta Grady, Elouise Goodman, Johnnie Mae Grady, Elizabeth Grady, Geraldine McCaleb, and Mary Mosley, and his bothers Franklin, Thomas, and Jose Grady.

George Grady was born on September 16, 1939 in Laurel, Mississippi. He attended schools there until 1952 the family moved to Fort Dodge to make their home. George attended schools here and following his education he went work at the Kalo Brick and Tile Company. He also worked at Dickerson Motors, Georgia Pacific, and worked in road construction until his retirement in 2008 do to ill health. In 1983 he met the love of his life Vickey Preston and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. George enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and was an accomplished mechanic. He loved his family deeply. George was a prayer warrior and would read his bible often.
