Elizabeth Koenig

Elizabeth L. Koenig, 95, of Fort Dodge passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the Marian Home.

Funeral services will be at a later date. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Elizabeth is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years Eugene, children Michele (Mitch) Sells of Fort Dodge, Mary (Larry) Jordison of Tucson, AZ, Jon (Debra) Koenig of Twin Lakes, daughter-in-law Kathleen (Tom) Hester, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Jo Hannah (Duden) Taylor and son Joe Koenig. As the final Taylor, her siblings Patricia Granlund, William, Joseph and George Taylor are meeting her in heaven.

Elizabeth was born October 29, 1930 in Pomeroy. She was raised and educated in Pomeroy, graduating from Pomeroy High Schools in 1948. On June 29, 1952, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Eugene Koenig at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pomeroy. In 1965, Elizabeth and Eugene made Fort Dodge their home. She worked for Iowa Electric Supply until retiring in 1998. She attended mass daily and was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, especially volunteering her time to serve funeral lunches. Elizabeth loved to bake and was an avid walker.

Memorials may be left to Holy Trinity Church.
