Elaine Georg

August 28, 1945 — May 19, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elaine R. Georg, who departed this world on May 19, 2025, at the age of 79. Elaine was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and educator—a pillar of her community known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering generosity.

Born on August 28, 1945, Elaine grew up on her family's farm in Schaller, IA, where she learned the values of hard work, resilience, and perseverance. The strong foundation instilled in her by her upbringing shaped her into the determined, compassionate woman she lived her life to be—someone who faced challenges with grace and poured her heart into everything she did.

Elaine built a life rooted in love and learning. She married Irving J. Georg, moving to Fort Dodge, where they welcomed three children into their lives. Though their marriage eventually dissolved, Elaine remained steadfast in her dedication to her family.

Elaine pursued her passion for education at the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She dedicated her life to shaping young minds in the Fort Dodge Community, sharing her knowledge and nurturing generations of students. She retired from Butler Elementary School on May 29, 2008, but her love for teaching never faded—she continued substitute teaching for years, finally stepping away at the age of 77. She touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.

Outside of the classroom, Elaine was a devoted fan of Iowa State football and the Green Bay Packers, cheering on her teams with enthusiasm. She also loved spending time playing games on her iPad, reminiscing about her favorite pastimes—playing bingo and taking short trips to the casino. And no day was complete for Elaine without a sweet treat—whether it was chocolate, cookies, a scotcharoo or her favorite dessert, she always found joy in a little indulgence.

Elaine is survived by her children, Jennifer Georg, Staci (Shawn) Adam, and Brett Georg; her grandchildren, Alexis Adam, Ryanna Hill, Brody Adam, and TyReese Hill; her great-granddaughter, Keyoni Hill; her brother, Roger (Kathy) Johnson; her beloved dog, Daisy; and many beloved family members, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and former students who will forever cherish the memories she created and the lessons she imparted.

Elaine was preceded in death by her life companion, Don Jamieson; her mother, Ruth Johnson; father, Gustav Johnson; sisters, Carol Regennitter and Beverly Johnson; brother, Kenny Johnson; an infant sister; niece, Emily Regennitter; brother-in-law, Rod Regennitter; and sister-in-law, Kaye Ray.

Though Elaine has left this world, the impact she made, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will continue to shine in the lives of those she cherished. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, forever inspiring kindness, strength, and joy. Elaine will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home from 4 PM to 7 PM, where friends, family, and all who were touched by her guidance and kindness will gather to share stories, laughter, and love in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman.
