Douglas Ray Holtorf was born November 3, 1947 in Lake City. He attended schools in Jolley and graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1966. On July 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Donna Harms. The couple made their home in Manson and Callender until 1995 when they moved to the Harms family farm near Lohrville. Doug was a mechanic and worked in auto parts for most of his life. The couple enjoyed raising and showing draft horses. They also raised pugs and miniature schnauzers as well as cattle, hogs, and sheep. Doug and Donna also refinished furniture and he paid meticulous attention to every detail. He was always glad to help the Carver's with their spring and fall field work. He was a member of Jolley Methodist Church.

Donna would like to thank everyone who stopped by the house, hospital, and care center to visit with Doug.

Memorials may be left to family discretion.
