David J. Miklo, 65, of Fort Dodge passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.
A memorial service will be 10:30 AM Thursday, July 16, 2026 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the funeral home.
Dave is survived by his wife, Dawn Miklo; children, Melissa (Mike) Eisenbarth and Cory (Liz) Miklo; granddaughters, Mallory and Makenzie Eisenbarth and Alivia and Everly Miklo; siblings, Kerry (Kaye) Miklo and Tom (Connie) Miklo; sisters-in-law, Sue (Pat) Jones and Donna (Scott) Pitman; nephews and nieces, Bill (Shannon) Miklo, Tyler (Lindsay) Miklo and Katie (Greg) Gallo.
He was preceded in death by his infant children Curtis and Lynn Miklo; parents, Joseph and Helen (Taylor) Miklo and father and mother-in-law, Don and Mary Wood.
David Joseph Miklo was born October 28, 1960 in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Saint Edmond High School in 1979. On June 29, 1979 he was united in marriage to Dawn Wood. They recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Dave worked for Nestle Purina for 45 years.
Dave was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who found great joy in riding and sharing his passion with others. He enjoyed listening to music, admiring antique cars, and spending time with his beloved pet dogs. A devoted firearms enthusiast, Dave also rarely missed a Dallas Cowboys football game and enthusiastically supported his cherished Iowa Hawkeyes whenever he could. Above all, his family was his greatest pride and joy. He cherished every opportunity to attend the sporting events, music performances, and dance recitals of those he loved, always showing his unwavering support from the sidelines.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be left to family discretion. Please dress casually in your favorite Iowa Hawkeye or motorcycle gear!
