Colleen Petersen

Colleen K. Petersen, 65, of Humboldt passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Church of Christ in Rockwell City. A private family burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Lohrville.

Colleen is survived by her children, Jessica Kunz of Oklahoma City, Joe Kunz (Susan Rivera) of Humboldt, Jacob Harrington of Cedar Falls, and Tony (Brandi) Harrington of Charles City; grandchildren, Skyler Kunz and Makayla Kunz, Adrianna Kunz and Mackenzie Kunz, Parker Harrington, Hayden Harrington and Braxton Harrington; step-children, Ben Petersen, Luke Petersen, and Joe Petersen; siblings, Barbara (Kim) Kolesar, Leisa (Jerry) Bailey, Ron and Sharon Jaeschke, and Alan Jaeschke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Petersen and mother, Coral Jaeschke.

Colleen Kay Jaeschke was born January 19, 1960 in Fort Dodge. She attended area schools and graduated from Manson Northwest Webster High School. After graduation, she worked various jobs including Pasquale's and most recently Opportunity Living. She also was a stay-at-home mom raising her four children. In 2002, she was united in marriage to Paul Peterson and the couple made their home in Sioux City. In 2008, Colleen moved to Humboldt. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading. She loved window shopping and thrift stores, listening to the "Beatles" and other music. She was a doggy daycare for her grandpup "Zia" and took every opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Her sarcasm went unmatched to anyone else and she was always ready with a joke and her quick wit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
