Christopher Pettigrew passed away on August 1st, 2024.
Going Home services will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Shawn Roberts, officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the church.
Christopher Pearson Pettigrew was born in Fort Dodge Iowa, at St Joseph Mercy Hospital, to Barbara A Buckner and Charles H Smith, on September 20th, 1970. He attended Fort Dodge Public Schools and graduated from FDSH Class of 1989. Christopher grew up playing and having a passion for sports. He was extremely active and strived to perfect and excel in Basketball, Football, Track and Wrestling throughout his school years.
Christopher began creating a life by working jobs in and around the Fort Dodge area, he worked alongside his brother Merlin (Bo) at BCP Contractors, Christopher’s current and most enjoyable jobs were working for 1st Presbyterian Church and Coaching at AFES.
He enjoyed shopping for the latest GQ Fashion and the newest arrival of kicks (shoes), watching sports, creating mystery dishes, dancing, cruising around town, hanging out with family, friends, cracking jokes, doing his hysterical mystic impressions of his former mentors and being an exceptional Papa to his exceptionally gorgeous grands.
Preceding him in death is his Father Charles H Smith, Mother Barbara A Bucker, Brother David Overstreet and Sister Anita Buchanan.

Johnnie Boutchee, Merlin Pettigrew, Tammy Ziegler; Grand- Children, Cyrique, Heavyn, Jaycee, Zynique, CaNiya, and Kash, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, memorable classmates and dear friends.
